ELECTIONS TO PROVINCIAL COUNCILS - 2008

The Senior Presiding Officer of a Polling Station is responsible to keep order at his station and regulate the admission of voters and others who are legally entitled to enter the Polling Station.

Only the following persons are entitled to enter a polling station.

1. Secretary of a political party contesting the election.

2. Candidates (one from each Party / Independent Group at a time)

3. Polling Agents (Two from each Party / Independent Group)

4. Police Officers on duty.

5. Officials on poll duty.

6. Registered voters.

7. Domestic Observers approved by the Commission of Elections (one from each of the two organization approved).

Please assist the Police Officers to maintain a peaceful atmosphere inside the polling stations and in surrounding areas. Polling Station includes the building in which it is situated and the precincts.
